The diversity of arts and cultures make this region a treasure chest for social scientists and culture seeker. Ancient carved-stone graves of Batak kings, the megalithic culture of Nias, unique dances, ceremonies, arts and crafts are just waiting for you to discover. North Sumatra is also one of the richest provinces in Indonesia for flora and fauna. Doubtless, North Sumatra is one of the best destination for Indonesia wildlife tour.  And of course the jewel of North Sumatra, Lake Toba, the legendary birthplace of the mountain-dwelling Bataks and the largest inland lake in Southeast Asia.

North Sumatra Adventure

Duration     : 08 DAYS / 07 NIGHTS

Start/Finish : MEDAN AIRPORT

DAY 01: MEDAN – BUKIT LAWANG

Upon your arrival at Medan Airport, meeting service, having lunch then drive to Bukit Lawang at Bahorok. Overnight at hotel (L, D).

 

DAY 02: BUKIT LAWANG – BRASTAGI

Walk to Bohorok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center to see the orangutans. Proceed drive to Brastagi. Stops at Sikulikap Waterfall and Traditional Batak Karo Village at Peceren. Accommodation at a hotel in Brastagi (B, L, D).

 

DAY 03: BRASTAGI - KUTACANE

Depart to Kutacane. Accommodation at guest house. Afternoon walking around to appreciate and the surrounding area (B, L , D).

 

DAY 04: KUTACANE (GUNUNG LEUSER NATIONAL PARK)

Full day trekking the tropical Rain forest Mount Leuser National Park for seeing the wild animals (B, L , D).

 

DAY 05: KUTACANE – PARAPAT – LAKE TOBA

Drive to Lake Toba and on boat to Samosir Island. Stop en route at: Sipiso - Piso waterfall and Long House of Batak Simalunggun Kings. accommodation at cottage in Samosir Island (B, L, D).  

 

DAY 06: SAMOSIR ISLAND

Full Day Samosir Island to visit: ancient graveyards, Tomb of King, traditional houses of Batak Toba, stone furniture, Museum of Toba Batak and enjoy Tor tor traditional dance performance (B, L, D).

 

DAY 07: SAMOSIR ISLAND – PARAPAT – MEDAN

Back to Medan via Parapat. City tour in Medan visiting Great Mosque, the Sultan's Palace, Chinese Temple and China Town. Overnight at a hotel (B, L, D).

 

DAY 08:  MEDAN DEPARTURE

Transfer to the airport for flight to your next destination of travel to Indonesia (B).
