Indonesian Journey III

(JAKARTA, ORANGUTAN, FLORES, KOMODO, BALI)

DAY 01: JAKARTA AIRPORT - HOTEL
Upon arrival at Jakarta Int’l Aiport, you are met and transferred to your hotel in central of Jakarta, Hotel Cipta (2 star). Rest of the day is free own your leisure. There will be a pre-trip briefing this evening to meet our fellow and this often followed by a meal together.

DAY 02: JAKARTA CITY TOUR
A day tour around Jakarta’s to visit National Monument, the Beautiful Indonesia Miniatur Park and other sights (B).

DAY 03: JAKARTA – SEMARANG – PANGKALAN BUN
Early wake up! Take an early morning flight departure at 06.45am to to Semarang. Upon arrival at Semarang Airport at 07.30AM, connecting flight to Pangkalan Bun by Deraya departing at 08.30am. Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport you will be met by our local guide then direct drive to Kumai for 20 minutes. Onboard a traditional Klotok wooden river boat about 6m by 2m with a roof which forms the upper deck where you can view the rain forest as it glides by the guide's team includes the boatman, a cook and expert guide. Lunch is served on the way to Tanjung Harapan, a rehabilitation center for orphaned orangutans, 2 hours away from Kumai. Here the playful and friendly baby orangutans are taught the first stages in fending themselves in the jungle. In the peaceful afternoon you have chance to explore to quite river independently by a dugout canoe or by the klotok while observe the monkeys along the riverside. Dinner and overnight on the boat at the pier of Tanjung harapan. Thin mattress, pillow, fine meals, bottled "mineral" water, mosquito net, kitchen, simple toilet available on boat besides the familiar - helpful guides and boatmen (B,L,D).

DAY 04: TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK TOUR
After breakfast board the klotok to travel up river for about 2 hours boating and then up a side creek to Camp Leakey where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rain forest. At Camp Leakey you will have opportunity to trek into the rain forest with your expert guide and the forestry rangers to appreciate the flora as well as perhaps sighting wild orangutans, gibbons, macaques, and birds. After trekking, cool with dip in the tea colored water, which is pure but stained with natural tannins. Lunch provided on boat. Afternoon visit the feeding station to see rehabilitated orangutans are given additional food then we will have an overnight on boat for a better opportunities seeing the animal activities in the evening and in the early morning (B,L,D).

DAY 05: TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK TOUR
After breakfast under the morning dew we make a second visit at Camp Leakey for a morning trekking to see the orangutans and other wildlife starting their activities. After lunch on boat, we boating down river through the park to Pondok Tanguy while enjoying monkeys, birds and other wildlife along the shady river bank. Pondok Tanguy is the newest established rehabilitation center for the new ex-captive orangutans. We will meet the orangutans and trekking for about 30 minutes to feeding station for the orangutan afternoon feeding time. Overnight at the pier of Pondok Tanguy (B,L,D).

DAY 06: KUMAI – PANGKALAN BUN AIRPORT – SURABAYA – CEMORO LAWANG
After breakfast return to Kumai and direct transfer to the airport for flight to Surabaya. Upon arrival at Surabaya Airport, our guide meets you. Transfer by AC coach to Cemoro Lawang, passing through the country sides and beautiful landscape of Tenggerese farming. Upon arrival, check in to Bromo Permai Hotel, one of the highest situated and nearest located hotel to the huge Bromo’s Sea os Sand. Afgter lunch (on personal account) take a short walk around the village to see locals’ activities at their farming, traditional market etc.

DAY 07: MT. PANANJAKAN & MT. BROMO – SURABAYA – DENPASAR
Early morning wake up! By 4 wheel-drive Jeep we drive you up to Mt. Pananjakan (2,770 M asl) for a spectacular view of sun rise over Mt. Bromo and it’s sea of sand. Trekking up to the rim of Mt. Bromo’s for close up view of it’s smoking crater. Return to hotel for breakfast. By Air-conditioned car we drive you in 3 hours journey to Surabaya Airport for your flight Bali. Upon arrival, you are meet then transfer to Hotel Anerka Kuta for your accommodation. Aneka Beach Hotel is a pleasant and centrally located, opposite the famous Kuta Beach. Rest of the day is free own your leisure.

DAY 08: DENPASAR – MAUMERE – MONI VILLAGE
Morning flight to Maumere, Flores Island. Upon arrival, our local guide will meet you then drive-up to Moni for 106 km (4 hours) with several stops at Ledalero - a major Catholic Seminary - to visit the museum with its various collection of local royal families' old portraits, antique hand woven clothes, stagedeon fossils, etc. Proceed to Sikka village - a center of "Ikat" weaving to see the traditional weaving process and an old church built in the 16th Century. Onto Paga for having lunch. Continue to Moni, on arrival check-in at FLORES SARE HOTEL (L,D)

DAY 09: MONI – KELIMUTU – BAJAWA
Early morning at 5.30 drive up to Kelimutu volcano to see the three colored lakes. Upon arrival walk for 1,5 km and then ascend 127 steps to top to view Kelimutu's light turquoise, olive green and dark black lakes. A Dutch Geologist discovered Kelimutu in 1914; at the time the lakes were red, blue and white. Descend to Moni village to view beautiful hand woven clothes and to visit Kowanara village famous for its traditional Lionese houses. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Ende. Continue drive Bajawa with stop in Boawae - a Nagekeo tribe village on the slope of Mt. Ebulobo Volcano. On arrival in Bajawa direct check in at HOTEL BINTANG WISATA (B,L,D)

DAY 10: BAJAWA – RUTENG
Breakfast at hotel. Continue overland to Ruteng - a cool and small town as the capital city of Manggarai Regency where major Mangarainese tribe dwelt. On the way stop at Aimere to see the local palm wine process and Ranamese Lake. Upon arrival in Ruteng direct check-in at HOTEL DAHLIA or similar. Afternoon visiting Ruteng Puu - Manggarainese traditional village to see their unique slander-shaped houses and be with local people (B,L,D)

DAY 11: RUTENG – LABUANBAJO – KOMODO ISLAND
Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Labuan Bajo - the Western tip of Flores Island. On the way stops will be made at Lembor and Cancar where you can enjoy the beautiful panorama of rice fields with lush and dry hills as the background, and other places according to local happenings. On arrival direct onborad for our 3 hours sailing journey to Komodo Island with lunch served onboard. Visit the fisherman village of Kampung Komodo and observe local people daily lifes. Retrun to the boat for dinner and overnight (B,L,D).

DAY 12: KOMODO ISLAND – PINK BEACH – RINCA ISLAND – LABUAN BAJO
After early breakfast, we sail to Loh Liang Station on Komodo Island, where we will do an hour trekking to Banugulung, former feeding ground to see Komodo in wild. During our way to Banugulung you will see other wildlifes such as wild pigs, deers and various colourful birds. Return to our boat for lunch then a journey to famous 'Pink Beach' that offers a beautiful marine life of corals and colorful fish. Spend some time for snorkeling before leave to Loh Buaya Station at Rinca Island. Here we will do trekking on the grass-land to encounter the Komodo on their natural habitate as well as to see other wildlife, including wild water-buffalos and deers - the favorite meals of Komodo Dragon. Next is to we return to Labuan Bajo for your overnight at New Bajo Beach Hotel (B,L,D).

DAY 13: LABUAN BAJO – DENPASAR
After breakfast we leave our hotel to visit the colorful traditional market in Labuan Bajo as well as the famous batu Cermin Caving. At the appropriate time transfer to the airport for flight to Denpasar departure at 12.30. Upon arrival transfer to Hotel Anerka Kuta for your accommodation. Rest of the day is free own your leisure (B).

DAY 14-15: BALI FREE PROGRAM
Free days in Bali. Tours are optional and on personal expenses. Lunch & dinner are excluded (B)

DAY 16: DENPASAR AIRPORT
Day is free on your leisure. At the appropriate time, we transfer you to Denpasar Airport for your flight to your next destination (B).
